Sid Fryer Is Blogging

One of my best friends is a man named Sid Fryer. He is a retired radio and television professor from College of Dupage. He now teaches a couple classes a semester at Judson. I have helped him get a site and get a layout and he now has a blog. Give him a few days to get his feet wet and then please go visit him. He is a wonderful Godly man, serving as "an elder" (unofficially) of a true "urban ministries" church. I am sure the lessons he has learned serving in these neighborhood will be a good lesson for all of us.

Kevin - are you originally from this area? Here you mention COD, but I noticed in an earlier post you said you went to a Church of Christ college..around here? Elmhurst? Just curious!

No, I grew up down in St. Louis. I went to college in Nebraska and when I graduated I moved up here to work. I worked at a CoC in West Chicago for 4 years before leaving paid ministry for the secular world. There is great freedom in being able to minister without one's income being derived from it.

Now I live out in Roselle

The one at James and 59? Wow. Small world! So, what do you do for a living now? We are in Roselle often, my daughter's best friend lives there. Plus we are at Stratford all the time. Nice town...
Good to know there are other like minded people around - same page and all, even if Darla felt bad about what she said on her blog. I know what she means....
Love to meet you sometime - maybe at an up/rooted meeting? Are you familiar with that? If you're interested let me know and I'll get you details.
