I wanted to let my fellow Yorkies know that Mike and Michelle Parker and Karen (Harvey) Smith have both had new birth's.
I will link to Karen's site if I get one.
Sawyer Parker was born on Wednesday and Brady Smith was born on Thursday.
Our God is An Awesome God!
3 Months and Our third will arrive!!!
Have yet to find a philosophical somewhere I am content to call home. The closest I get to a creed these days is a quote by John Green. "Whether I believe in God isn’t really relevant. I do believe however tenuously in Mercy" Due to a lot of personal reasons encountered along this journey, I have mostly stepped away from writing for now. Still, sometimes something stirs me and I need space to hash out my thoughts. So welcome to my little space along the journey.

Social Hazard
Our theme this weekend at camp is Social Hazard and the director's theme verse is Romans 12:2. As I have been working on comitting this verse to memory and working on my talk for Sunday night to summarize and conclude the weekend. There is no verse that gives a better "How-To" than this passage from Isaiah.
"Quit your worship charades.
I can't stand your trivial religious games:
Monthly conferences, weekly Sabbaths, special meetings—
meetings, meetings, meetings—I can't stand one more!
Meetings for this, meetings for that. I hate them!
You've worn me out!
I'm sick of your religion, religion, religion,
while you go right on sinning.
When you put on your next prayer-performance,
I'll be looking the other way.
No matter how long or loud or often you pray,
I'll not be listening.
And do you know why? Because you've been tearing
people to pieces, and your hands are bloody.
Go home and wash up.
Clean up your act.
"Sweep your lives clean of your evildoings
so I don't have to look at them any longer.
Say no to wrong.
Learn to do good.
Work for justice.
Help the down-and-out.
Stand up for the homeless.
Go to bat for the defenseless.
Isaiah 1:13-17;"
I was inspired by Wicky's MySpace page to create the graphic at the bottom for the T-shirt I will wear while I speak Sunday night.
Instead, fix your attention on God. You'll be changed from the inside out. Readily recognize what he wants from you, and quickly respond to it. Unlike the culture around you, always dragging you down to its level of immaturity, God brings the best out of you, develops well-formed maturity in you.

I'd like to thank the Academy...
So it is with GREAT PRIDE that I let you know that I have been upgraded from contender to WINNER... in the Marko caption contest!!!
I'd be remiss if I did not mention that I know I am loser to be excited about this. However usually it is a VERY SMALL population of people who find my sense of humor funny.
...Oh Oh Oh! And Of Course God! Woo Hoo!!!!

I could've been a contender.
"You don't understand! I could've had class. I could've been a contender. I could've been somebody, instead of a bum, which is what I am."
Youth Specialties boss Marko had Painting In Need Of A Caption contest up on his blog.
I have entered several of his caption contest before and have never made the contender list. However this time I did. Check out the post... and the contenders list!
I must say I am truly a bum, to be this proud!!!
