Cancer Research on Dog Breeds... Tax Dollars Well Spent

I hope you don't feel the government siphoning off more of your income to fund cancer research is an admirable theft. Cancer researchers from the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center in Seattle, WA have discovered that Chihuahuas Aren't Dogs.

A Few Facts You Might Want to Know
FACT: 4,770,519,000 has been appropriated for the National Cancer institute.
FACT: This is 230 Million more than 2003 and 110 Million more than 2004.
FACT: Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center is currently receiving funding for 232 research projects according to the NCI website
FACT: Even the live assitant from the NCI website was unable to find NCI budget disbursements available on the web. The best she could do was give me a phone number 1-301-435-3848 of the Administrative Office of the NCI to call on a "public inquiry"

I will conclude by saying that I support Cancer Research. I lost a dear friend several years ago to a 7 year bout with breast cancer. I believe the more research into Cancer we conduct the more we will see that cancer is the result of violating God's laws on nutrition. I support the PRIVATE funding of this research. I am most appalled when I see an organization receiving federal dollars squandering their money on the research of disease in household pets. Organizations like the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center to should be called to account for this kind of frivolous squandering.

Phil Vischer's Loss of Big Idea

For those of you who are LONG time fans of Veggie Tales this article, Running Out of Miracles - Christianity Today Magazine discusses many things that I think were visible from even outside the company.
Josh and the Big Wall was the last GREAT project out of Big Idea studios. Everything after that seemed like Phil and Mike had lost focus and had become MUCH more a business than a ministry.

I only hope for his sake that Phil has come to terms with the loss, and a realization of the mistakes they made with God, that brought them to the point of loss. I like many people will always have a special place in my heart for that early Big Idea work. I hope God has freed Phil's heart to write and produce like that again.

I say Godspeed!

The Second Civil War Is Upon US

WorldNetDaily: New Hampshire wins 'free state' vote

WorldNetDaily: Christians look to form 'new nation' within U.S.

Many people laugh at me when I try to point out to them that in the Political Cycles that history measures a nation by we have left our "golden era" and are in the decline, with internal civil war nearing on the horizion. We have walked the path of wealth and affluence left to us by Sumer, Babylon, Greece, and Rome without learning from their mistakes. We are are overextended in imperial conquest and discontented at home. We claim RIGHTs to wealth that formerly had to be earned.

Alas, this great expirement had a good run, but it is time to say Goodnight America, may a better dynasty replace thee.

CBS NEWS pointed out Bush's Third-Party Threat in their news article of that name on Friday. More Fiscal conservatives need to read and heed the doctrines and platform of this third paty.

Some notes on the "Who wrote Linux" Kerfuffle

Intresting Reading
Some notes on the "Who wrote Linux" Kerfuffle

Just Say No to New TLDs

In the Eweek article Berners-Lee: Just Say No to More Domain Names Eweek address the issue of 10 new TLDs. I am no supporter whatsoever of new TLDs. As pointed out in the article, .mobi and .xxx have good goals behind them, but it is goals that can be accomplished by Meta data, and .mail, .post, .jobs, and .travel are just plain stupid.
Only time will tell how this will come out.

Sun Tzu and George W. Bush

It is embarrising to me that George W. Bush is an Ivy Leauge educated leader who seems to have never studied the work of the greatest military strategist of all time. Sun Tzu wrote the "Art of War" in around 300 BC. In this great philospohical strategy guide he laid down the sage advice of a veteran of many wars.

Sun Tzu writes: "Now in order to kill the enemy, our men must be roused to anger; that there may be advantage from defeating the enemy, they must have their rewards. Therefore in chariot fighting, when ten or more chariots have been taken, those should be rewarded who took the first. Our own flags should be substituted for those of the enemy, and the chariots mingled and used in conjunction with ours. The captured soldiers should be kindly treated and kept. This is called, using the conquered foe to augment one's own strength. In war, then, let your great object be victory, not lengthy campaigns. "

What would "rouse to anger" our soldiers. An attack on American capitalism and U.S. soil? Yes, I think so. A small dictator torturing his subjects? No I don't think so. The problem with the war in Iraq is there is no anger. Hussein, the monster I agree he was, has NEVER acted aggressively against the US. Yes he acted aggressively against Kuwait and his own people. Yes he was devising weapons we did not want him to have. (I do believe we will still find WMDs in Iraq) Yes, I believe he may have been a FUTURE threat to the US. However we have and had a CURRENT threat. A true zealot who attcked our soil and our civilians. The war in Iraq takes the focus off the subject of our anger.
We should punsih Bin Laden and all faithful to him, but the military occupation of Iraq only serves to distract our nation and our military from this, the source of our anger.

Iraq will be only a lengthy campaign, no matter what the final outcome. There is NO victory to be found in Iraq. Seeing Bin Laden's body hanging from an American gallow would be victory. Sun Tzu saw the objective we need to search after.

Justice For Nick Berg's Killer

The death of Nick Berg is a tragedy. A horrid tragedy that must be avenged. As I wrote yesterday the soldiers and officers involved in the torture and humiliation of the Iraqi people should be punished. That does not mean however that I do not feel that these monsters should be brought to justice as well.
I only wonder what of Bush's Propaganda convinced Nick Berg to go. I only wonder if George's adminstration sees the blood on their hands as well. I only wonder if the family of this young man supports the LIES their son was told by our president about the "peace loving muslims of Iraq."
We must come home! We must withdraw ALL political entalgements with these people. We CAN NOT create a peace loving Islamic world, and we are only losing soldiers and young idealist like Nick Berg in the process. We are only turning our own soldiers into these monsters we despise.
Peace with Islam will never exist. George W. Bush and his fellows in arms who send our soldiers to make that happen will bear their blood.

Seperation of State and Schools

No one would trust the government to tell you the truth if it ran the
newspapers. Why would anyone expect the government to tell children the truth in government schools? As Libertarians say: The separation of school and state is as important as the separation of church and state. - Rex Curry

"I'm Singing It In Spanish"

So on Sunday my wife, my daughter, and I were in Old Navy and Ella was singing our version of "copacabbana" which is Anna - Anna Bannana. Instead of the normal way of singing the song, she was singing "Anta - Anta Bananta" I informed her that is was Anna Bannana not Anta Bananta to which she informed me, "I'm singing it in Spanish" Foolish me, how little did I know

Prisoner Abuse is TREASON against America's Image

As many of you who have read my past posts know I am no supporter of the Iraq conflict. I think it is imperialistic tyranny of the grandest sort.
I also think that the black eye on the face of the American people the prisoner abuse scandal has caused is exactly the kind of problem one can expect in imperialism. It serves to reinforce the imperialistic ideas that are being fed to Bush's HJ, I mean young soldiers.
Mankind born in the image of God, knows what is proper and improper treatment of another human. When a soldier chooses to treat another human in this fashion, under orders or not, that person alone has VIOLATED there humanity and should alone pay the penalty. An investigation should ensue to bring TREASON charges against ALL those guilty of this assult against the integrity of America. The officers who ordered these attacks, along with the soldiers who carried them out should face the consitutional penalty of treason.
I can not for a moment believe however that this goes any higher than Lt. General Sanchez, if even that high. I belive to implicate Donald Rumsfeld and General Meyers in this is foolishness. I guess however only time will tell.

Google Me This Bowman

Google is a far as I am concerned the coolest technology in existence. I love Google! However I need Google for Personal Computers. That is right, I want to either
A. Pay Google To Run a System That indexs every file and email on my computer.
or
B. Use Google's targeted search to allow them to actually give me relevant ads based on the file or email I am seraching for.

That is right, B is my preference and I am willing to givew the advertisers of google permission to watch my every search, on my local computer in order to provide me with GoogleMe!

Now I am sure some feel good politician will prevent me from ever seeing GoogleMe! as a reality. But Google me this, "Why should I not have the right to allow Google this "privacy violation" if I want this COOL feature for free.

I WANT my GoogleMe!
