Have yet to find a philosophical somewhere I am content to call home. The closest I get to a creed these days is a quote by John Green. "Whether I believe in God isn’t really relevant. I do believe however tenuously in Mercy" Due to a lot of personal reasons encountered along this journey, I have mostly stepped away from writing for now. Still, sometimes something stirs me and I need space to hash out my thoughts. So welcome to my little space along the journey.

What's your theological worldview?
Description: You are an evangelical in the Wesleyan tradition. You believe that God's grace enables you to choose to believe in him, even though you yourself are totally depraved. The gift of the Holy Spirit gives you assurance of your salvation, and he also enables you to live the life of obedience to which God has called us. You are influenced heavly by John Wesley and the Methodists.
The term BIG SURPRISE would be most appropraite here. I could have saved myself five minutes with this outcome. I know I am a Wesleyan Evangelical. Oh well, find out what you are...

A Tribute To My Father
Evangelism is not inviting your co-workers, and neighbors over to your house for a bible study with you and the minister. Evangelism is not tracks left on tables in a restruant instead of a tip. Evangelism is seldom eleoquent preaching and great oratory. No, I believe the key to effective evangelism is living a life hurting people want to live. I believe evangelism is living with joy about what Christ is doing in our life and our family personally. I believe evangelism is having compassion and love for the people we interact with in our life that is genuine and heartfelt. I believe evangelism is simply little more living life in a way that makes you an authentic Christ follower.
I have seen few people in my life who practice this form of evangelism like my father does. My dad simply chooses to love and therefore be concerned about, and therefore share the joys and pains, of everyone God puts in his path. I am so thankful to see the many people who have decided they want to find out more about relationship with Christ, because of the genuine positive impact they saw it had on my dad's life because of the positive impact he was having on their lives.
There is nothing on earth that could make me more proud to calling this type of person, Dad!
Change In Church
So many people think change is about outside factors such as praise teams and preaching styles. So many people think there is a formula of "worship" that will grow a congregation and change the neighborhood to be involved members of Christ's church. Yet these prole do not see that it is the individual change of our Spirit by the power of the Word. We must change the way and desires of our heart. We must become PASSIONATE about OUR relationship with Christ. That is the Change that will bring the community and neighborhood to Christ. Change must be a matter of our relationship with Christ, not a formula for worship. Let's change in our authentic life with Christ.

A Visionary Prayer
Prayer of 16th century English explorer Sir Francis Drake:
Disturb us, Lord, when we are too well pleased with ourselves, when our dreams have come true because we have dreamed too little, when we arrive safely because we have sailed too close to the shore.
Disturb us, Lord, when with the abundance of things we possess, we have lost our thirst for the waters of life; having fallen in love with life, we have ceased to dream of eternity; and in our efforts to build a new earth, we have allowed our vision of the new Heaven to dim.
Disturb us, Lord, to dare more boldly to venture on wider seas where storms will show your mastery; where losing the sight of land, we shall find the stars. We ask you to push back the horizons of our hopes; and to push in the future in strength, courage, hope, and love. Amen.
Solar Sailing - The New Wright Brothers
However every once in a while you read about a group of people who are in love with a concept and decide to operate outside the walls of the corporate world, and government research funding to perform research that is truly great, and truly motivated by the love of science itself. The people at the Planetary Society are one such group. Tommorow this group, which was started by the late Carl Sagan, will be likend to the Wright Brothers as they launch Cosmos 1, a solar sail craft that will be navigated for test purposes by a team here on earth.
The launch, the craft, the mission control, and all other portions of the research paid for by a network of commited donors, rather than a network of co-opted taxpayers forced by coercion to be supporters. I say Godspeed to the good people at the Planetary society. "May your journey be swift, and your treasures be great."

Abort73.com
I do not understand why so many pro-life websites make arguments like "Jesus loves you so don't have an abortion" That argument is SUCH CRAP!!!! The problem is a Christian argument on God's value of life will never change a mind about the subject of abortion. I saw a billboard once that said, "What if Mary had an abortion?" It made me think allright, not quite the thoughts they wanted.
I love God and I know that abortion is a moral injustice that is an abomination to God, but it is not people who love God, and love to follow his laws who we are coaxing out of abortion clinics, it is "Christians" who do not follow his words and commands, and people who claim no connection to Christianity at all. Therefore a Christ/Bible centered website is a waste of the hard drive and bandwidth it occupies.
Abort73.com is not that site. Abort73 makes a fabulous medical, social, and political argument that anyone who respects the principles of human rights can understand and relate to. It is arguments like this that will change minds and save lives.
I am making a $20 a month commitment and I would encourage you to do the same. Please check out his arguments, articles, and quality web layout and make a decision to be a supporter and promoter. I am so excited If the site owners are willing to let me, I am going to print up 30-40 shirts with his website name on it to give away to any of the teens willing to wear them to do my part to be a promoter.
My only complaint was his missing the destruction legalized abortion brings on the moral case for America. If a law exists that violates the principles of "life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness" that invalidates our system of law since our indepence is made on that moral argument. Legalized abortion makes us an illegal government body, also known as a terrorist state. I have argued in the Blog before, legalized abortion is a violation of the constituion as well since, the preamble of the consitution sets the reason for this system of law to "ensure the blessings of liberty to ourselves, and our posterity" Abortion robs the most vulnerable of "our posterity" of the liberty our system of law is established to protect.
Oh well, his arguments are great. Check out the site and the founders blog and the founders personal page. I am so thankful for the 2 mothers who chose to keep the babies in their womb, despite their situations, so that they would become my neice and nephew, we need to convince more mothers to follow this path. Abort73.com has the potential to do just that.

A Rhyme To Free My Mind
A Squibble Squabble I have Caused
between myself and a large baboon
It seems some words I uttered
In retrospect a moment to soon
Have angered this primate
and his friend, another burlish goon.
It seems my remarks were not forthought
Nor my shelter I now fear
It seems this situation has become quite hot
Body stretching , being pulled quite far
I grip the ground in this haven I sought.
Upside down I now hang
In these hairy paws I'm caught.

My Daughter's First Democratic Handout
I live in Dupage county so that means the politicians were one republican right after the others. It was apparent that these were all the "get a job and buy your own candy you little pests,"type republicans since each entourage passed with no candy distribution. Then at the very back was 2 democrats, that's right 20 minutes of politicians and 2 were democrats. Low and behold THEY HAD CANDY!!!!!! My daughter was estatic, finally after this long droll of republican handshake and well wishes the democrats had arrived with the handouts. So I sent her into the fray, "Remember baby, just keep standing there, Democrats never tire of giving handouts!!!!"
It was a lovely lesson in Civics.
I should segue into why we need to eliminate both parties and let some real libertarians and federalists fight it out, but alas, it's Sunday evening, we have Bible study and you all have heard my soap box a thousand times before!!!
