My Adventure In Prime Rib
I started my project by making a glaze to put over the Rib Roast as a marinade.
1/2 Stick Butter
1/4 Cup of Lea Perrins Worchesther
2 TBS Fresh Minced Garlic
1 Tsp of Crushed Sea Salt
1/4 Tsp Dry Mustard
1/4 Tsp Celery Salt
1/2 Can Tomato Sauce
1/16 Onion Minced
I simmered all this in a pan for about an hour till is had a thick paste texture.
Next I needed to prep my meat. I started with 4 pounds of Rib Roast. I removed the 2 ribs from the underside of the meat to split and use as a natural broiler.
Next came adding natural flavor, I did this by dicing an entire clove of garlic, 3 carrot sticks, 1/8 Onion and 2 celery sticks into small pieces I could insert into the meat. I used the following method.
1. Make a small incision
2. Slide the garlic deep into the cavity created
3. Top the incision with the small carrot & celery slice
4. Finally I used the plyable nature of the onion to slide it into the cut.
I did this six times on each side of the meat, then made several more incsions to place the remaining garlic pieces. At the time, I placed the roast onto my natural rib broiler, and proceeded to finih my prepping process.
The final step was to fill my incisions and cover the exterior with my glaze. Using a Turkey Baster (I might use a cajun injector next time) I filled each of my 12 incisions with the runny portion from the sides of the pan of glaze. Using the thick portion of the glaze and a basting brush I covered the top and both sides with the glaze and placed it in the refrigerator for 4 hours (I might try more time next run) to absorb these wonderful flavors.
After 4 hours I had the oven preheated to 350 and was ready to cook 80 minutes (20 minutes a pound seemed to be going rate for a 4 pound roast medium rare.)

20 Minutes a pound made a very rare roast. It was warm but red all the way through. I think this would have been great if you were planning to throw it on the grill after broiling. However I am going or a 25 minute per pound next time I cook it.

SAVE THE PLANET - Stop Volcanic Global Warming
People of earth. Global warming is a serious problem!!! We must STOP the eruption of volcanos, and methane leaks of the ocean in order to stop a second mass extinction on earth.
According to the best science we have today the answer is for every eco-idiot to hurl themselves into the earth's volcanos to serve as a drain plug thus preventing the dangerous emissions produced by these remnants of earth's archaic lack of respect for enviromental protection.
Please everyone...do your part to stop these volcano's contribution to global warming, or the next 10 million years could become very dangerous to your existence.
Please do not confuse and eco-idiot with the genuine contribution to the improvement in air quality, and responsibile preservation of earth's resources by many wonderful enviromental scientist. We are charged by GOD to be stewards of this planet, and we are all thankful to those dedicated scientist who responsibily support enviromental conservativism

Monday - Anna Update
Have heard the one about my weekend!!!!
Saturday morning we got up and our 6 month old seemed to be getting only worse. That being said we all 4 piled into the car and drove to the doctor. Doctor said she was dehydrated and suffering from RSV and sent her to the hospital to be admitted.
We spent from about 12:30 to 4:30 in the ER being told that they were going to admit her. About 5:00 the doctors changed their mind, wrote a prescription for a Nebulizer, and sent her home with instructions to drink lots of pedialyte.
So Sunday was the battle to Nebulize (she is not a fan) and give lots of pedialyte. She is keeping down the pedialyte. She coughs enough phlegm up after a Nebulizer treatment to compete with a 60 year old life long smoker. She does not seem to have any desire to get much better either.
Right now we are waiting. If she does not begin to recover soon, I assume we will be back at the ER again.

Day 4 - Thunderbird & Firefox
So I am on day 4 using Thunderbird and Firefox and I have a few more comments to add now that I am into it a little deeper. The score remains a 3.75, this is just a few more details for you to ponder.
1. Junk Mail Filter - As I have written about before, I was using Ella for Spam Controll to manage the wealth of Spam and News/Opinion posts I get daily. Ella is a 4 star program that EVERYONE still using Outlook should get themselves a copy of. I am still using it on my 1 Outlook account! But I digress. I was prepared to be a little disappointed with the junk mail features in Thunderbird, but their power would be crucial in deciding my long term commitment to stay with Thunderbird. After 4 days the Junk Mail is functioning at about 75% and Newsletters (which I set up using filters) is at 95%. This is not Ella by any means which was at 90% within the first 10 minutes on both Spam and Newletters, but it is definitely satisfactory. Ella was at 100% in all areas within a week, and so we have 3 more days to see if Thunderbird can catch up.
2. Intelligent Address Book - Every address I use it automatically added. That is a great little feature. What would be VERY COOL is if it could choose folders to look at and add all addresses in the FROM field of that folder.
3. Conquery - This little plugin could bring Mozilla up to a 4.25 by the extra 1/2 point they would recieve for a little app that allows to to query any word or phrase from any email against a list of 100s of selectable search engines including Google, A9, Biblegateway, Ebay, WebMD, Pricewatch, and FirstGov. That is a small listing of the 24 search engines I added to my computer.
4. Stupid Reply Feature - OK this is a soap box for me now, and the extra 1/2 point Conquery garnered this silly little bit of stupidity steals away. When you hit reply your default type locayion is BELOW the orginal message instead of ABOVE. THIS IS IDIOTIC!!! We all know what has already been said, the prvious text is merely a refrence a "footnote" and it should be in the footer of the message!

Why Does The RNC Like Kid Rock?
It is a simple question. A year ago the man descrated an American Flag to be worn as a "shirt" at the Super bowl halftime show. This was on screen for a good 3 minutes and no FCC charges were brought against him. Then in August, he performs at all place the RNC convention. That was disgusting! To top off the whole offense he is now performing at the inauguration. GROSS.
This is a man who used to let Anna Nichole fondel herself on stage at his feet while he performed for an arena of teenagers. I am outraged at the stupidity of the RNC to validate his carrer with an invitation to perform at these events.

2:00 Up With Anna
Well it is almost 2:00 AM and I am up with a sick Anna. The doctor put her on everybody's favorite stimulant Albuterol.
She does not want to be awake any more than I do, since it us that yuvky drugged up awake you get from the combination of being physically exhausted and mentally alert from the effects of the drugs.
If I am up in an hour I will write more.

A Great Coloring Page Site
This site has some great coloring pages for preschool. It is all free and all you have to do is look at an ad! Small price to pay for coloring pages.
Speaking of coloring pages, you might be wondering why I have a post about a coloring page in the middle of a workday. Well Anna is sick and Christi has taken her to the doctor so I am caring for Ella in my office at work. So coloring pages are a great thing.

Mozilla Thunderbird w/ GNU PGP
A few days ago Christi began having problems with her Webmail account. I wanted to get a good mail reader for her, and I have NEVER been impressed with OE. So I decided to try out Thunderbird from the good people over at Mozilla.
I downloaded installed and took a look and liked what I saw. It was VERY impressive for a free competitor to OE.
A few days passed and we began a MS Exchane trial at work. This trial took over my outlook and disabled my abilty to check my email at my other sites kotees.com, and drkaos.com. Knowing that I could not live my life with onoy 1 email address, I decided to download and trial Thunderbird for myself.
My analysis is 3.75 Stars. Here are 4 reasons why I think anyone using POP mail should move to Thunderbird.
1. Built In Junk Mail Filter - Intelligent engine, automatic whitelist of known addresses, very effective.
2. Message Filters - Move certain messages to certain folders automatically upon arrival. I am subscribed to several newsgroups, I put these messages in a newsgroup folder that allows me to read them when I have time, and keeps them from clogging my inbox. This option is where thunderbird lost 1/8 of a point for not allowing me to forward certain messages to my cell phone. Outlook has this ability.
3. GNU PG - PGP is an important tool. I believe that identity proof is a crucial item in todays world of spoofs and hoaxes. This tool allows for everyone to add the security of their unique identity to every email. Friends don't let friends email w/o PGP and GNU PG makes that available for free.
4. MS-Outlook Import - I have an exstensive Outlook history going back over 3 years worth of saved messages. All of my messages and folders moved over with ease and integrity. I did not use the address book function, but I assume it works just as well.
The other 1/8 point Thunderbird lost in my opinion came from the fact that there is no calender. Although I still have that option in my Exchane hijacked Outlook, if this was my only email client I would feel very inadequete without that functionality. They do get points for the fact that it is available as a plugin called Sunbird from the Mozilla site. It is in the EARLY beta stages and stabilty is probably questionable. I have not tried it yet.
